December Scouting Trip

December 2025 Scouting Trip Report

We took a load of supplies to the ranch, hung a few cameras and glassed a good portion of the ranch in early December.

Highlights:

-The road from town to the ranch has recently been bladed and is in great shape. The ranch owner also had many of the roads on the ranch bladed and they are also in great shape.

-The summer rains on the ranch were very similar to what we had in Arizona; hit and miss. They had some heavy rain roll through in early November, so there is currently water everywhere. Most of the tanks are as full as we have ever seen them and some water is running along the big canyon by the ranch house

-It has been fairly warm, so the vegetation is still pretty green. It was 34 degrees at the ranch house in the morning, so those cold snaps are coming.

-We saw 30 bucks on Saturday. A handful of them would likely meet the requirements of being a shooter. So our saying of “Finding a buck is not the issue, finding the right buck in a place where we can do something about it” still holds.

-Our travel to and from the ranch was smooth sailing the whole way.

-Enjoy a few pictures from the trip below and let us know if you have any questions!
